viewing area. it does include the metro area in parts of virginia and maryland. so let's go to the doppler 7 radar. the temperatures shown in yellow. notice the yellow and the red on the radar? the very heavy rainfall clipping fairfax county. it is going to cross over the potomac and into frederick county and then hagerstown as well momentarily this morning. otherwise, a few spotty, light showers going on the high temperature about 83, becoming less humid. we'll dry out and have a fair amount of sunshine. more rainfall later this week. >> while you were sleeping there was a crash on the interloop ramp to eisenhower avenue. they are out there now repairing the guardrail so you'll mind exit ramp closed for the next 10-15 minutes. you'll find everything in your favor on the greenway, route 29 and even 270. not bad. more to come on the traffic side. we'll have the latest information from metro rail. last we heard, first trains in normal service. >> our top story now, a 2-year-old boy fighting for his life after accidentally shooting himself in the chest. and now two teenagers are facing charge

student from virginia is in court today. investigators say he opened fire during an off campus party after someone refused to let him in. jessica moore from prince georges county, virginia was killed. police are looking for a second man, they say, gave welsh the gun gun. >>> right now prince georges county community college is shut down because of a natural gas leak. crews are working at campus way south and route 202. officials say a four-inch gas line ruptured this morning. fire crews shut down roads leading to the scene as a precaution. right now gas crews are working to repair the line. >>> usually hot arid weather is great for vineyards but not this time around. grapes used to make california wine are in serious jeopardy. the landing gear malfunctions on a crowded commuter flight and it is ear ely similar to another flight. >>> another commuter justice was forced to make an emergency landing in milwaukee last night. it's a smaller version of the same plane that had a near crash landing at jfk airport in new york on saturday. as joel brown reports, investigators think the landing gear

for a rematch against martin o'mally. a northern virginia man will be at utah supreme court today in hopes of gaining custody of his daughter. john wyat says his daughter was adopted and taken to utah without his permission. his girlfriend gave birth last year without telling him and put emma up for adoption. he says that was in violation of fralt parental kidnapping laws. >> the death toll is growing in texas in the aftermath of tropical storm hermine. two people have died from rain associated with that storm. this comes after a number of dramatic reves like this. firefighters in arlington, texas pulling a woman to safety. check out this dramatic video from dallas. you'll see a tornado forming tearing apart a section of a rail chard. that twister slammed a truck into a warehouse. that was one of several tornados that touched down throughout the day. >> wildfires in colorado are burning out of control for a third day and four people are still missing. flames burning destroyed at least 136 homes so far. that makes this the most destructive series of wildfires in colorado history. many of th

a northern virginia man may have staged a violent incident at johns hopkins hospital in baltimore. police say that he shot a doctor, shot and killed his mother, then turned the gun on himself. >>> this morning, that doctor is recovering. now, the gunman's family says he was likely overcome with grief about his mother's conditions. fox 5's sarah simmons joins us this morning. >> good news, the doctor underwent surgery and is expected to be okay. the shooter's brother says he believes his brother is upset over his mother's surgery, because she probably wouldn't be able to walk again. police say paul warren hardic pulled a gun and shot his motor's doctor while the surgeon was updating him on the condition of his elderly mother. the bullet went right into the doctor's stomach. he barricaded himself with his mother. he killed his 84-year-old mother and then himself. for more than two hours, people were frightened but knew little about what was going on inside. >> my boss came running in. and he said there was a guy running around with a gun and to stay put. >> it's scary, just knowing that someone
